Stranger Lets Himself into Apartment and Waits ‘Paranormal Activity’ Style Beside Clueless Homeowner’s Bed in Search of His Drug Dealer

South Florida has produced some strange drug stories- and some of them which don’t involve bodily injury or permanent damage are amusing- but I think this bizarre account in West Palm Beach takes the cake. Police arrested Colin McGarrigle (26) for burglary, theft, and marijuana possession after a terrified homeowner called 911 waking up to McGarrigle standing in his bedroom waiting for him to wake up- but it’s okay!

McGarrigle was just looking for his drug dealer, according to The Sun Sentinel.

A surprisingly mellow McGarrigle told police the incident was a “simple misunderstanding,” and that he merely let himself into the apartment after his drug dealer disappeared inside to sell him marijuana. Growing tired of waiting (in the hallway?), McGarrigle thought it only fair to catch a cat nap on the couch. But alas, when we awoke, still no drug dealer, who McGarrigle has dubbed “Rob.”

In a desperate search for his dope man, McGarrigle searched the home, but only found the sleeping homeowner and his son, who were soundly sleeping. So he did the only rational thing he could think: he stood beside the bed of the sleeping homeowner, Paranormal Activity Style, until he eventually woke up, to probably say something along the lines of,

 

“Excuse me sir, have you seen my drug dealer?”

 

Suffice it to say, our clueless homeowner was none too thrilled about his seemingly harmless intruder- especially after discovering $300 from his apartment was no where to be found, and that his apartment was ransacked- oh and one of his window screens was dismantled. But surely, it was a “simple misunderstanding.”
