John Stamos Checks into Drug Rehab, But What About Fuller House?

Our beloved Full House star, John Stamos, who played the effervescent Uncle Jesse, has voluntarily checked himself into a drug rehabilitation program, according to People; presumably for a possible alcohol use disorder. If you recall John Stamos was charged with DUI last month- and it looks like that may have been the cue he needed to get help. Stamos has checked into a residential drug rehabilitation program, which typically lasts 90 days, if the recommended treatment is adhered to. Then there’s outpatient rehabilitation and the possibility of living in a sober residency- but what does all that mean for the follow up Full House series, Fuller House?

If you haven’t heard, Netflix will be airing Fuller House sometime next year, and yes, almost the entire original cast will star in a new comedy sitcom (with the exception of the Olsen twins). Fuller House will follow DJ and Stephanie on their misadventures of motherhood, with their ever doting father and loving uncles helping them along the way. But the merriment may be delayed, as Stamos is one of the show’s biggest stars. Stamos hasn’t issued a statement as to whether or not his enrollment into a rehabilitation program will cut into film time of the new series- but it may be too early to tell at this point.

In addition to Fuller House, Stamos will star in a Fox comedy series entitled Grandfathered. Thus far, since his DUI incident, Stamos has kept his fans abreast of what’s been on his mind, and applauded the hospital staff which admitted him after his DUI. But since late June, there’s been no word from Stamos, so we can only imagine what his motivations are behind going to rehab. We’re particularly proud of Stamos for admitting himself, as he seems to be taking his substance use disorder seriously, making himself a wonderful role model for others to follow in the footsteps of.
