Bill Cosby Admits to Giving Women Drugs in Order to Have Sex with Them

According to documents obtained by The Associated Press, Bill Cosby admitted to obtaining quaaludes, a synthetic central nervous system depressant, to give to young women whom he wanted to have sex with. In addition, Cosby also admitted to drugging at least one woman. Cosby admitted these things in a testimony for a sexual abuse case which had been filed by a former Temple University employee, Andrea Constand.

The 77-year-old comedian has been accused of using drugs to rape women as early as the late 1960’s, however this is the first time in which Cosby admits to the use of drugs to obtain sex from women that is on record.

According to the report, Cosby said that he got seven quaalude prescriptions in the 1970’s. Constand’s lawyer Dolores M. Troiani asked Cosby,

“When you got the quaaludes, was it in your mind that you were going to use these quaaludes for young women that you wanted to have sex with?”

Cosby responded “Yes,” during the hearing on September 29, 2005, as quoted by the AP.

Cosby later admitted he gave Constand three half pills of Benadryl, however Troiani believes that was not the drug which was used on Constand. According to the two women who testified on Constand’s behalf, they had knowingly been given quaaludes.

According to reports, the sexual-abuse lawsuit involving Andrea Constand had been settled for undisclosed terms in 2006.

There are still over two dozen women who have accused Cosby of sexual misconduct, many allegations which accused Cosby of drugging and raping them. The sexual abuse allegations against Cosby dates back over four decades ago. Cosby has never been criminally charged in relation to any of the accusations due to most of the accusations being barred by statutes of limitations.

As of December 2014, Cosby has resigned from the board of trustees at Temple University as a result of the flood of sexual misconduct accusations. Cosby had become a popular face of the university in ads, fundraising campaigns, as well as commencement speeches, according to the Associated Press.
