Teen Mom 2: Leah Messer in Drug Rehab & Battling Ex-Husband Jeremy Calvert

 

If you’re sick of the glorification of teenage moms, today is not your day! Leah Messer, made famous by Teen Mom 2 and her three beautiful kids, is allegedly in inpatient rehabilitation. We’ve visited Leah Messer’s drug addiction suspicions before, but now MStarz is reporting Leah has been in drug rehab for weeks, and has been separated from her three children, Adalynn and the twins Ali and Aleeah. According to MStarz Leah is recovering at a drug treatment facility in Utah. Did we mention Leah is having custody battles with her ex, Jeremy Calvert?

It appears Leah’s rehab stay wasn’t entirely voluntary- but it’s interesting to note her alleged addiction to prescription medication isn’t entirely to blame either. MStarz quotes,

 

“A source close to Leah noted that the reality star is in for depression and stress, not drug use. She was originally signed up for a 30 day stint, but could be released early. It currently looks like she will check out of rehab at the end of June.”

But it gets more interesting from here, MStarz continues,

“Leah didn’t exactly go willingly, however. The production source tells The Ashley that the show’s producers had to essentially force Leah to go. They used something in her contract terms to force her to go to rehab. . . producers refused to continue their contract with her until she went.”

Now that the juicy gossip is out of the way, way have to put our two cents in: first off, see? Not all producers are money hungry and evil! Their concern for Leah’s mental well being should be something of note. In fact, the most interesting of the claims about Leah Messer is that her producers insisted she go to rehab not necessarily for her alleged prescription pill addiction, but for her worsening depression. They’re definitely on to something here.

The faster substance abuse is treated, the more likely recovery is. Conversely, if you eliminate the source causing substance abuse, like depression for instance, you get rid of the problem! (Assuming that Leah does actually use prescription drugs to self medicate herself for depression that is.)

As more is released about Leah we’ll keep you updated! For now, we wish her luck and light to brave the hard times ahead. The thing to focus on her isn’t that Leah didn’t exactly go to rehab on her own, but that she went at all (I mean hey, she could have walked away from her producers).

It’s not about how you get help, it’s just about getting help.
