According to TIME Magazine, over this past weekend actor John Stamos was arrested and cited with a DUI charge in Beverly Hills, California for allegedly driving under the influence.
Police say they received multiple phone calls stating that there had been a possible drunken driver on the road. Officers then got involved and reported to the location. Upon arrival, officers stopped a vehicle and inside was Full House actor John Stamos, 51, who appeared to be under the influence.
Upon being pulled over, police say Stamos was the only person inside of the vehicle and was very cooperative. Stamos showed officers his license and verbally identified himself as well. Under the impression that the actor may have a possible medical condition, police had Stamos transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center before making an arrest.
During his admittance to the hospital, officers determined that Stamos had been driving under the influence and arrested him with a DUI charge. After being cited with the charge, Stamos was then released back into the care of the hospital.
Stamos didn’t address his DUI charge, however he did issue a tweet stating that he’d been released from the hospital and custody. “Thanks to everyone for their love & support,” Stamos wrote. “I’m home & well. Very appreciative of the BHPD [Beverly Hills Police Department] & Cedars [hospital] for their care.” Stamos wrote in a tweet.
Stamos is due to appear in court on September 11 in relation to this incident, according to Armour.
