Creating and committing to a fitness routine can help you get your life and priorities back on track. The endorphins released by physical activity boost your mood, help you relax, and encourages your body to recover from the stress and damage addiction may have caused. Even if you don’t decide to become a marathon athlete, picking up a hobby can be a welcome distraction. You may discover you have a talent for watercolor painting or finally pick up that instrument you have always wanted to try. Rehab isn’t just about getting back to a healthier state- it’s about getting back to, or even reinventing, you.

 

#5: Be positive

Changing a negative mindset can be difficult, but it’s essential to success with a rehabilitation program. When you enter your first day of treatment it may seem overwhelming and the intimidating detoxification phase may make seem impossible, but positivity can make a difference between success and disappointment. While support and positivity from those around you can be encouraging, it’s your inner mentality that will be predominate. Henry Ford once said: “The man who thinks he can and the man who thinks he can’t are both right. Which one are you?”
